Every author on this planet who is actually worth a crap has had at lease one bad review in their lifetime! That may be a hard pill to swallow but it’s the truth.
Whether you start writing as a wee child, hand that masterpiece over to your third grade teacher thinking you’re the tippity top writer in class, and then get slapped with a D on your report card — OR whether you release your debut novel as a senior feeling so freaking accomplished, like you finally chased your life’s goal, only to be punched in the guts by a reviewer claiming that your book is the worst they have ever read. The origin of our writing makes no difference. The hard truth of a literary lifestyle is this: NOT EVERYONE WILL LIKE YOUR WORK, AND NOT EVERYTHING YOU PRODUCE WILL BE CREAM OF THE CROP!!
