Use this prompt to think outside the box, to go somewhere with your writing that you had never dared go before. See what kind of magic you can work with that brilliant mind of yours. You are a storyteller so this will be a breeze.

Maybe you could use this prompt to add a scene to the current book you are writing. Maybe you could start a short story that you can give away for free to subscribers of your blog. A picture like this can spark ideas you may never have considered.

I look forward to reading your writing.

Have Fun!

A Map Illustration for Epic Fantasy

Here is a recent map I designed for R. Ann Greene and her book series “The Stones of Caron.” R. Ann Greene’s stories are very inspiring to me and I love illustrating for her.

R. Ann Greene is new young adult fantasy author just getting started in the world of self-publishing. The first volume in her series The Stones of Caron” trilogy, “What Time Handed Them”, is now available on Createspace, Amazon, and Kindle. She releases small pieces of her work for your enjoyment, titled, Untold Stories. You can find them on her blog: RANNGREENE

High fantasy at its finest

“The Stones of Caron is a delightful read featuring elves, dwarves, dragons, and basically every fantasy creature you can think of. The book focuses on Earia, the queen of elves, who fights against an enemy she believes she created, and Fillip, a former boy who holds the one thing that can save the elves from their enemy. It packs a lot of content, and the plot is fast-paced and entertaining from the start.

Earia was my favorite character. She was feisty, stubborn when needed, intelligent, and not afraid to do what she had to do. Her personality changed and developed throughout the book and by the end, she was a lot stronger than she’d been at the start, but still equally engaging.

The author masterfully combines several elements like elves, dwarves, prophecies, magic, adventure, and crafts a tale that kept me on the edge of my seat. If you enjoy fantasy, you have to give this book a try. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.”

“The Stones of Caron Book Two: Following Danger’s Path” is going to be released soon and I can’t wait! Here is a peek at the story…

At long last the elves have a plan and Earia is trying to show her allies a victory, but with every small success they begin to grasp just how mighty a force they are against.

Her Company’s actions only seem to stir the pot and make whatever resources Niren happens to have much more pronounced. Not to mention they are facing greater dragons than they have seen in ages. Legends seem small and insignificant next to these spectacular creatures that guard their hoards piously.

Their one wild card is the Sea Haven, the only ship in all the wide oceans capable of surviving a dragon attack. But what good is a ship if they don’t live long enough to make it to the beach? There are plenty of enemies ready to see that they don’t and the powers of even magical elves might not be enough to get the job done.

Fillip proves to be Earia’s greatest challenge. His thoughts are his own and he strikes without consulting anyone else. He seemed like a wise lad in his own homeland, but now is proving to be on the verge of reckless. Yet, even with all of his exasperating tendencies, he is still the glue that holds good men together.

Illustration & Cover Design: Work In Progress

I have been busy most of the day writing in my book which was completely outlined and one third written when it morphed into an epic transformational series…. oops 🙂

So finally after all that work I’m switching gears to work on my latest commission from Jonathan Dorr. Just starting the painting on this book cover. I started with the dragon green but think he is looking better overall as a red dragon 🙂
